Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by your driver-guide and transferred to your hotel. After checking in, embark on a brief Kigali city tour, visiting key sites such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial and local markets. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Kigali.
After breakfast, drive to Akagera National Park, Rwanda's only savannah park and home to the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos). Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic boat safari on Lake Ihema, where you will spot hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Rise early for a full-day game drive in Akagera National Park. Explore the park’s vast savannahs and woodlands, and keep an eye out for wildlife like elephants, zebras, giraffes, and various antelope species. With luck, you may also spot lions and leopards. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before continuing your wildlife adventure. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation.
After breakfast, depart for Volcanoes National Park, home of the mountain gorillas. The scenic drive will take you through the beautiful Rwandan countryside, with rolling hills and terraced farms. Arrive at your lodge near the park in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure, enjoying the stunning views of the Virunga Mountains. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Today is the highlight of your safari! After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Accompanied by a guide, trek through the dense forests in search of a mountain gorilla family. Once you find them, spend an hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you can opt for a cultural village visit to learn about the local communities. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
After breakfast, you have the option of either trekking to see the playful golden monkeys in the forest or visiting Dian Fossey’s grave and research center. Both activities offer incredible insights into Rwanda’s primate conservation efforts. After lunch, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure or explore the nearby twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. After breakfast, depart for Nyungwe Forest National Park, one of Africa's largest and oldest rainforests, known for its rich biodiversity and primates. The journey offers beautiful views of Lake Kivu and the rolling hills of Rwanda. Arrive in Nyungwe in time for dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
Rise early for chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest. After a briefing, set off into the forest to track chimpanzees. Watch them swing through the trees and go about their daily routines. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer back to Kigali for your departure flight, marking the end of your thrilling Rwanda Wildlife Safari.
