Full itinerary

Upon arriving at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you'll meet your guide and be transferred to Moshi, the town located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. After settling in, you’ll spend the day resting and preparing for the Kilimanjaro climb. The guide will brief you on the trek, ensuring you're ready for the days ahead.

After breakfast, you’ll depart Moshi and head to Machame Gate, the starting point of your Kilimanjaro trek. As you begin your journey through the lush rainforest, keep an eye out for the incredible biodiversity, including monkeys and colorful birds. The forest gradually gives way to heathland as you make your way towards Machame Camp. The scenic trail will offer glimpses of Kilimanjaro’s majestic peak, motivating you for the ascent.

The trek continues as you climb higher, leaving the rainforest behind and entering the moorland zone. The path becomes rockier, with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes and the towering peak ahead. The hike to Shira Camp is rewarding, offering a chance to marvel at Kilimanjaro’s beauty as the terrain changes dramatically. The day’s journey also provides essential acclimatization as you gain altitude.

Today is a vital day for acclimatization. After breakfast, you’ll trek to the Lava Tower, a volcanic rock formation standing at 4,600 meters. The ascent to this point is challenging, but it’s crucial for preparing your body for the higher altitudes ahead. After reaching Lava Tower, you’ll descend to Barranco Camp, giving your body the chance to adjust to the changes in elevation. The descent also provides an opportunity to appreciate the rugged beauty of the mountain’s slopes.

The day begins with a climb up the Barranco Wall, a steep but exhilarating section of the route. As you scale the wall, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the glaciers and the expansive landscape below. After conquering the wall, you’ll continue on a gentler trek towards Karanga Camp, where you can rest and recharge. This day serves as preparation for the final ascent to the summit.

This is the day you’ve been waiting for—summit day. You’ll depart from Karanga Camp and make your way to Barafu Camp. After a brief rest, the final ascent begins in the early hours of the morning. The climb to Uhuru Peak is physically demanding, but witnessing the sunrise from Africa’s highest point makes every step worth it. After celebrating your achievement at the summit, you’ll begin your descent to Mweka Camp, where you can rest after this monumental achievement.

After breakfast, you’ll complete your descent through the forest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificate in recognition of your accomplishment. From there, you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for a short flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you'll be driven to the coast, where you can relax and enjoy the tranquil beaches after the strenuous trek. The sound of the ocean and the gentle breeze will provide the perfect contrast to the high altitudes of Kilimanjaro.

Your final day offers the opportunity to explore Zanzibar’s rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes. You can choose to visit the historic Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with narrow streets and bustling markets, or tour the island’s famous spice plantations, where you’ll learn about the spices that put Zanzibar on the map.
